Heavy Storms Cause Damage In Troy, MO

On Sunday July 23rd, Most of the State of Missouri suffered heavy thunderstorms. This thunderstorm was quite heavy compared to the occasional rain that we have had through out the summer. Around 1:30 am, most residence awoke to heavy and loud winds rebounding off of their homes, mine included. The house shook with every thunder clap causing windows to rattle. As the electric flickered on and off the storm got eerily quiet while the wind picked up. Its moments like this when you wonder if this is the time you need to wake up your family and head to basement. However as I sat in my bed looking at the radar it was just thunderstorms. Waking up in the morning was a whole other story. The neighborhood looked like a tornado had hit it. As calls started coming into our office about water damage from the storm and trees falling on houses, it was not hard to believe that this storm could have been something more than what I had originally thought. When storms like this happen so quickly it is hard for water to dissipate into the ground at the same speed causing back ups into homes and walkout basements to flood. This is where SERVPRO comes in!
