Mold in Basement

A slow leak in a hot water heater caused this home to develop mold within the floor joists. The hot water created a nice breeding ground for the mold as well as the porous wood making this basement home sweet home for the pesky fungus. It is extremely important to check low traffic areas of your homes such as areas as the basement or crawl space, for simple malfunctions. In this case what could have been a small fix if caught early ended up causing a huge issue. Check on the elderly or family and friends who cannot check basements and crawlspaces on their own.
