Water Line Leak In Basement

This water leak happened in a basement where the vanity sink had started slowly leaking. When bathrooms are in basements it is easy for moisture to get trapped. Basements tend to be a more humid areas in the home. They are also not as inhabited as other areas of the home leading to small problems that go unnoticed. Ultimately it is important to check your basement often for any extra moisture or water sources that could be causing damage. Typically in situations such as this one it is only necessary to cut out minimal amounts of drywall. In this picture you can see that the vanity was removed as well as two feet of drywall starting from the floor along the perimeter of the bathroom.
